Contain, Investigate, Preserve

The CIP Division is responsible for the containment, investigation, preservation, and documentation of anomalous entities, objects, locations, and phenomena not directly affiliated with Stellar Industry research.

▸ CIP-966: "CAN'T SLEEP"

CLASSIFICATION: ANOMALOUS ENTITY / PSYCHOLOGICAL-THERMAL HAZARD

STATUS: ACTIVE / UNCONTAINED MANIFESTATION CYCLE

THREAT LEVEL: EXTREME

CIP-966 CAN'T SLEEP
CIP-966 "CAN'T SLEEP"

SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES

CIP-966 cannot be contained through conventional physical or digital means. All known attempts at confinement have resulted in total failure or subject death.

Affected individuals must be immediately transferred to either Experiment-1000 (Carson Morningstar) or Experiment-1010 (Caelum Nightfall) for anomaly suppression. Continuous proximity to either entity has shown temporary suppression of symptoms.

If neither experiment is available, affected individuals must be placed in a monitored isolation chamber and prevented from entering sleep cycles under any circumstances.

CIP personnel are instructed to avoid direct observation of the entity under all conditions.

DESCRIPTION

CIP-966 is a grotesque humanoid entity measuring approximately 8 feet in height. The entity’s skin is pale white with irregular patches of exposed flesh and bone.

The face consists of fully black eyes with narrow red slit pupils. Blood continuously leaks from both ocular regions and the mouth. The mouth remains in a permanent distorted smile.

The entity’s body is severely distorted and elongated, with unnatural joint articulation allowing movement through physically impossible angles.

Hands are consistently blood-soaked, believed to be the result of repeated victim contact.

STAGE PROGRESSION

STAGE 1 — INSOMNIA:

During Stage 1, affected individuals begin experiencing progressively worsening insomnia. Subjects report a continuous reduction in required sleep, often reaching near-total wakefulness within several days. As sleep deprivation increases, CIP-966 begins to appear in peripheral vision as a partially visible, translucent figure resembling a ghost-like projection.

Subjects who sleep during Stage 1 report a significantly altered perception of CIP-966 within dream states. Recovered individuals (including those retrieved by Experiment-1000 or Experiment-1010 intervention) consistently describe a dual-form manifestation. In dream perception, the entity appears physically complete rather than damaged or fragmented.

In this form, CIP-966 exhibits no exposed flesh, bone, or internal organs. Instead, the entity presents a fully stabilized humanoid body with a highly developed and muscular physique. Documented observations include pronounced definition in the pectoral muscles, abdominal muscles, biceps, triceps, and partially defined lower limb musculature.

Subjects commonly describe this stage as emotionally intense, euphoric, and psychologically significant. Many individuals report disclosing personal trauma, emotional pain, or deeply buried secrets to the entity during this phase. Interaction often includes close physical proximity and comforting contact described by survivors as “intimate reassurance.”

It remains unknown whether this form represents the entity’s true appearance or a constructed psychological manipulation designed to induce trust and emotional dependency. Current classification considers CIP-966 to be highly manipulative with intentional emotional biasing behavior.

STAGE 2 — PHANTASM:

During Stage 2, subjects regain limited sleep capacity; however, all sleep cycles become dominated by severe and escalating nightmares. These nightmares are described as intensely vivid, psychologically distressing, and often indescribable in nature.

This stage may persist anywhere from 24 hours to approximately 3 months. The majority of affected individuals either experience complete psychological collapse or self-inflicted termination as a direct result of prolonged exposure.

Subjects who survive Stage 2 transition into Stage 3: CAN’T SLEEP.

STAGE 3 — CAN’T SLEEP:

In Stage 3, the subject enters a state of extreme sleep deprivation. At this point, CIP-966 becomes fully visible and physically corporeal within the subject’s environment.

The entity generates widespread hallucination effects, causing all individuals within visual range of the subject to perceive CIP-966 occupying the appearance of nearby people. This results in rapid escalation of paranoia, misidentification, and violent psychotic episodes.

Affected individuals typically enter a state of uncontrollable aggression and will attempt to attack surrounding individuals under the belief that they are the entity itself. After approximately 10 minutes of sustained exposure, the subject collapses due to complete physiological exhaustion.

CIP-966 then proceeds to consume the subject while they remain partially conscious. The process involves progressive physical destruction, including flesh removal and skeletal disassembly, while maintaining the subject in a living state for the duration of consumption.

If a subject resists Stage 3 conditions and survives direct exposure for more than 30 minutes, CIP-966 ceases manifestation entirely. An envelope will subsequently appear at the location of disappearance.

The contents of the envelope vary, but always include a high-value reward such as monetary compensation, fully acquired property, or an all-expenses-paid experience. All recorded rewards have been independently verified as genuine, legally valid, and fully funded. Investigation into the origin of these rewards remains ongoing.

BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS

CIP-966 is classified as highly manipulative. The entity presents two distinct observed states:

In its physical manifestation, it appears grotesque and predatory. In dream-state encounters, however, it appears as a fully formed humanoid with highly developed musculature and an unnaturally calming presence.

Dream interactions often involve emotional disclosure from subjects, suggesting psychological manipulation or emotional mimicry.

It is currently unknown whether the “dream form” represents the entity’s true state or a psychological projection designed to lower resistance.

KNOWN COUNTERMEASURES

Exposure to Experiment-1000 has shown temporary suppression of CIP-966 manifestations through restorative sleep stabilization and emotional grounding.

Exposure to Experiment-1010 has shown full suppression of entity activity for a single sleep cycle via Dream Realm interference and nightmare neutralization.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

CIP-966 remains one of the only recorded anomalies capable of converting sleep deprivation directly into physical manifestation.

All CIP personnel are advised: DO NOT SLEEP DURING ACTIVE EXPOSURE EVENTS.

ADDITIONAL CLASSIFIED ADDENDUM — UPDATED SECURITY BRIEF

UPDATE STATUS: POST-INCIDENT REVISION (FILE AMENDED)

Following extended analysis of CIP-966 exposure cases, Head of Research & Development Daniel Anderson has been confirmed as a long-term exposure subject to the entity.

Despite repeated and prolonged encounters, Daniel Anderson remains uniquely unaffected by full Stage 3 progression. All recorded data indicates he is perpetually stabilized in Stage 1 (Insomnia Phase), with no documented transition into Phantasm or CAN’T SLEEP stages.

This anomaly has led to revised classification protocols regarding CIP-966’s behavioral targeting.

Further investigation has revealed that CIP-966 is not an isolated entity, but rather the recognized leader of the Crimson Cult — an underground hostile faction operating in opposition to Stellar Industry containment authority.

The Crimson Cult is believed to function as a destabilization network responsible for coordinated breaches, experimental sabotage, and anomalous entity propagation across Stellar Industry-controlled zones.

Internal cross-referencing with historical breach records suggests CIP-966 is not merely an entity, but a manifested projection of a severed shadow construct originating from Adam Primus.

During a documented Crimson Cult incursion, Adam Primus was observed in multiple security recordings without a visible shadow. Further analysis confirmed that his shadow had been forcibly detached as part of an incomplete compatibility procedure involving the artifact known as “The Starlit Dagger of Resentment.”

The separation event is believed to have occurred during early Crimson Cult operations, where Adam Primus voluntarily severed his shadow to survive partial incompatibility with unknown anomalous systems.

Post-analysis indicates CIP-966 is that detached shadow construct, now autonomous and hostile, actively operating under independent command structure.

Targeting priority data confirms that Daniel Anderson is disproportionately selected by CIP-966 across all recorded manifestation events.

It is currently unknown whether this targeting behavior is residual emotional imprinting, systematic selection protocol, or direct connection to Adam Primus’s original intent.

FINAL NOTE:

Direct visual confirmation of Adam Primus during Crimson Cult engagements has repeatedly shown the absence of a shadow under normal lighting conditions.

This remains unclassified in public records.

▸ EXPERIMENT-1010: CAELUM NIGHTFALL

CLASSIFICATION: BIOLOGICAL SYNTHEZOID

STATUS: ACTIVE

THREAT LEVEL: LOW (FRIENDLY)

PRIMARY ASSIGNMENT: CELESTIAL SANCTUARY NIGHT GUARDIAN

Experiment-1010 Caelum Nightfall
Experiment-1010 "Caelum Nightfall"

APPEARANCE

Experiment-1010, designated Caelum Nightfall, is a biological synthezoid possessing an average and balanced physique. His eyes consist of faded golden irises surrounded by lavender-indigo sclera with small cornflower-blue pupils.

Caelum possesses medium-length hair reaching approximately to his ears. The hair is parted from the right side of his head and appears visually similar to an endless star-filled night sky. Researchers have observed moving stellar patterns within the strands despite no detectable physical source.

The subject wears a short-sleeved shirt decorated with alternating royal blue and cobalt blue vertical stripes. Matching striped trousers are worn alongside white wool-lined slippers and white gloves.

Resting atop his head is a nightcap bearing the same royal blue and cobalt blue coloration. The end of the cap terminates in a droplet-shaped ornament resembling condensed moonlight.

Caelum carries a lengthy golden staff featuring a crescent moon enclosing a central star at the upper end. The lower end extends into a key-like structure. A translucent light-blue cape displaying a starry texture drapes from his shoulders.

PERSONALITY

Caelum is consistently described as benevolent, wise, patient, and exceptionally gentle. Unlike many experiments, he demonstrates a natural desire to assist others without expectation of reward or recognition.

He possesses a strong sense of responsibility toward the children of the Celestial Sanctuary and dedicates the majority of his time to ensuring their safety and comfort during nighttime hours.

Caelum is notably curious and enjoys learning about dreams, emotions, stories, and personal experiences. He frequently listens to concerns expressed by both children and staff members.

Personnel records indicate that Caelum responds to conflict with diplomacy and understanding whenever possible. Even when insulted or criticized, he rarely displays hostility.

The subject maintains an ongoing rivalry with Experiment-1000, Carson Morningstar. While Carson openly complains about Caelum's existence and frequently criticizes his cold nature, Caelum generally responds with patience and amusement rather than anger.

ABILITIES

Moonstone Sapphire Integration: Caelum's synthezoid body was embedded with a celestial artifact designated the Moonstone Sapphire. This artifact serves as the foundation for all currently observed abilities.

Dream Realm Access: The subject possesses the ability to enter and navigate the Dream Realm. This dimension contains countless dream-orbs, each functioning as an isolated pocket reality generated by a sleeping mind.

Dream Manipulation: Caelum can interact with dream environments, stabilize nightmares, guide dreamers, and safely escort lost individuals through dream-orbs.

Lunar Magic: Experiment-1010 demonstrates extensive magical capabilities associated with moonlight and celestial energy. Known applications include barriers, restorative enchantments, sleep inducement, protective wards, and dream-related spells.

Nightmare Suppression: The subject can detect abnormal nightmare activity and directly intervene to protect vulnerable dreamers from hostile dream entities.

Celestial Spellcraft: Numerous moon-attuned spells have been documented. Full limitations remain unknown due to the subject's reluctance to utilize destructive magic.

ROLE

Experiment-1010 serves as the official Night Guardian of the Celestial Sanctuary.

During nighttime hours, Caelum patrols sleeping quarters and protects residents from both physical threats and dream-based anomalies.

The subject frequently occupies the Moon Throne located within the upper portion of the Sanctuary Bedroom. The throne emits a soft lunar glow and serves as a comforting night light for residents.

Internal reports indicate that children experience fewer nightmares and improved sleep quality when Caelum is present.

ORIGIN

Experiment-1010 was developed as a counterpart to Experiment-1000. Whereas Carson Morningstar embodies warmth, vitality, healing, and daylight, Caelum was designed to represent tranquility, dreams, guidance, and nighttime protection.

Researchers selected the Moonstone Sapphire as the foundation artifact due to its documented connection to dream dimensions and lunar phenomena.

The completed synthezoid displayed immediate compatibility with the Moonstone Sapphire and rapidly developed advanced dream-manipulation capabilities.

Following successful activation, Caelum was permanently assigned to the Celestial Sanctuary to oversee nighttime operations and dream safety.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Zodiac Sign: Taurus

Experiment-1010 spends significant portions of his free time observing stars and studying dream-orbs within the Dream Realm.

Children frequently describe the subject as calming and comforting.

Despite Carson's frequent complaints, the two experiments demonstrate strong cooperative effectiveness when jointly assigned to Sanctuary operations.

Several residents have referred to Carson and Caelum as "the Sun Guardian" and "the Moon Guardian" respectively.

Experiment-1010 has never intentionally caused harm to a Sanctuary resident.
